HPG pays respects to their Elders past and present. We also recognise that as the oldest continuous living culture in the world, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people represent the oldest LGBTQ+ identities in the world.

Brotherboys, Sistergirls, and other gender-diverse people have been a part of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures since time immemorial. The gender binary is a construct that was enforced on this land and its Peoples through colonisation.

HPG recognises that sovereignty was never ceded and is committed to the work of decolonising our practices. Always was Always will be Aboriginal Land.
